some days, there’s nothing for it but to boil the kettle and enjoy a cup of your favourite brew, best shared with a friend

perhaps a macaroon too? or two? straight from Grandma’s recipe book

coconut macaroons

2 egg whites

1 1/2 cups desiccated coconut

1 cup sugar

3/4 teaspoon vanilla

few drops almond essence

Beat egg whites until peaky, then add sugar a little at a time, beating after each addition. Lastly beat in the essences and very lightly fold in the coconut. Place in little heaps on a greased slide and bake in a cool oven till just tinted.

i’ve been blog browsing this morning, catching up on some old favourites and came across the video you see below and here at Tara’s blog.

Perhaps, if I may be so rude as to suggest the order in which you should proceed…

1   watch this fascinating insight into tea making

2   once correctly educated on such matters, grab a cup for yourself

3   settle in for a lovely browse at Tara’s – her work is truly extraordinary & exquisite.

    I heartily agree.
I should like to see an episode on proper service and varieties as well as the cultural diversity in tea preparation. Most enjoyable indeed.
