through rose tinted glasses

yesterday was red day.

i literally “scribbled” my entry into my journal.  the work / art balance is still finding it’s centre and as a result i find it hard to squeeze one into the other on days that are devoted to work.  at least i did something – previously, i would have just shrugged my shoulders and said “i’ll do it tomorrow”….

i had a bit of a “find” yesterday.  as i pulled up at a set of traffic lights at a major, mornington intersection, i noticed a piece of interesting looking metal on the road in front of me.  i was driving the bus, full of clients and with my boss sitting in the passenger seat beside me.  what does a girl do in a situation like this?  i made noises of excitment and then disappointment at the seemingly impossible situation, at which point my boss checked the rear vision mirror, told me to back up, jumped out of the bus, retrieved the metal for me and jumped back in just in time for the lights to change! BLESS HER!

it’s big, approximately 30cm long and about half that in width

it’s got lovely patina coloured specks of paint in places on one side and is rusty orange on the other.

yummo!

now i’ve just got to find something other than using it as a window for taking photos through!

i’m off to spend my yellow day with mandy…. anything could happen!

Hi just found your blog via papergail.
I love your bit of metal and the way you found it.
Have you tried rubbings over it. Check out Susan Lenz’s grave rubbings on her blog.
    Cheers
P.S. I had to turn the fire reports off also and feel a bit helpless. If you want to sew something check out Nicloe Mallalieu’s blog.
